Terms of Service

1. Who we are

Apps Almanac is an independent market-intelligence service for everyone in the Shopify app world: builders, app owners, merchants, researchers, and agencies. It is operated by Valotrix Studio SRL, a company established in Romania (European Union). In these terms, "we", "us" and "Apps Almanac" mean Valotrix Studio SRL.

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or a partner of Shopify Inc. "Shopify" is a trademark of Shopify Inc., used here only descriptively. See data sources for where our information comes from.

2. What the service does

We organize publicly available Shopify App Store listing information and turn it into derived signals: opportunity scores, category-level pain themes, and mover signals. These are our own estimates, computed by software not facts, ratings, or measurements issued by Shopify or by any app developer.

3. Your account

You must give an accurate email address and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country) to create an account. If you enable two-factor authentication, keep your recovery method safe we cannot recover a lost second factor on your behalf.

4. Acceptable use

You may use Apps Almanac for your own market research and product decisions. You may not:

• Re-export, redistribute, or resell our data or analytics in bulk, whether via the interface, any data export, or any other means.
• Use our output to train, fine-tune, or evaluate machine-learning or AI systems without our prior written consent.
• Use Apps Almanac to send unsolicited messages to merchants, customers, or app developers identified in our analysis.
• Attempt to access accounts, data, or systems that are not yours, or probe, scan, or overload the service.
• Misrepresent Apps Almanac as affiliated with or endorsed by Shopify Inc.

We may suspend or terminate an account for a material breach of these terms. Where a paid period has already been used in breach, no refund is due for that period.

5. Plans, billing & cancellation

Free and paid tiers are described on pricing. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details. Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your billing settings access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for, and is not pro-rated.

EU right of withdrawal. As a digital service supplied on a subscription basis, you may have a 14-day right of withdrawal under EU and Romanian consumer law. Where you ask us to begin the service immediately and then withdraw within that window, we may charge for the portion already delivered. To withdraw, email hello@appsalmanac.com. We will confirm and refund any remaining amount due without undue delay.

We may change prices for future billing periods. We will give you reasonable notice; a price change never applies retroactively to a period you have already paid for.

6. Your content and ours

Material you enter tracked items, saved queries, alert rules, ideas, notes, and feedback remains yours. You grant us only the permission needed to store and process it so we can run the service for you. The Apps Almanac interface, our scoring methods, the derived signals we produce, and the look and feel of the product remain ours (or our licensors'). The underlying listings we organize belong to Shopify Inc. or the respective app developers; we make no ownership claim over them.

7. No warranty

Apps Almanac analytics are estimates computed from public information using deterministic methods. They are not authoritative measures. To the extent allowed by law, the service is provided "as is"; we do not warrant accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular decision. Do not bet a business on a single Apps Almanac number combine our signal with your own judgment and other sources.

Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have as a consumer under mandatory EU or Romanian law that cannot be waived by contract.

8. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability for any claim arising out of your use of Apps Almanac is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost business opportunity. We do not exclude or limit liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

9. Privacy

How we handle personal data is described in our privacy notice. Valotrix Studio SRL is the data controller for that personal data. The privacy notice also lists our sub-processors and our commitment to give you advance notice, with a right to object, before we change them.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will announce material changes in the in-app changelog and update the effective date above. If a change materially reduces your rights, we will give reasonable notice before it takes effect. Continued use after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Romania, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country where you live in the EU. Disputes that cannot be resolved amicably go to the Romanian courts competent for our registered office, except where mandatory law gives you the courts of your own EU country. We would always prefer to resolve a complaint directly email hello@appsalmanac.com first. EU consumers may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
